About these terms

SpeakUp is provided by BringUp Education, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. These terms apply to the SpeakUp app, the website at speakupai.bringupedu.com and the Institute Portal. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.

Your account

  • Give accurate details when you create an account, and keep your password private.
  • An account can be signed in on one computer and one phone or tablet at a time. Signing in on another computer signs the previous computer out, and the same applies to phones and tablets.
  • Your account is for you alone. Please don't share it.
  • If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to your use of SpeakUp, unless your school or college provided your account.

Free trial and paid plans

  • New accounts get a free trial of the chosen edition. The trial length is shown in the app and on our pricing page.
  • Paid plans give access for a fixed period — for example 3, 6 or 12 months — and are bought inside the app.
  • Each plan is a one-time payment. Plans do not renew automatically.
  • Prices are in Indian rupees and are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Razorpay.
  • If something goes wrong with a payment, contact us at info@bringupedu.com and we will look into it.

Institute accounts

Schools and colleges can buy SpeakUp for their students. The institute receives logins for its admin and faculty, and its admin creates student logins up to the number of seats on its plan. The institute is responsible for how its logins are shared and used, and for informing its students about SpeakUp. The institute admin and Class Incharges can see the practice results of the students in their institute or classes.

Acceptable use

Please use SpeakUp to practise and to help others practise. Don't:

  • try to break, overload or get around the security or device limits of SpeakUp;
  • copy, resell or redistribute the app or its content, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows;
  • use someone else's account, or create logins for people who haven't agreed to it;
  • send us or other users anything unlawful or harmful.

Scores and feedback

SpeakUp's scores and tips are produced automatically to help you practise. They are a guide, not a certificate or an official assessment, and they may sometimes be wrong — for example with a noisy room or a weak microphone.

Content and ownership

The SpeakUp app, its exercises, passages and design belong to BringUp Education. Your plan gives you a personal right to use them while it is active. Your practice results belong to you; you allow us to store and process them to provide SpeakUp.

Changes to SpeakUp

We improve SpeakUp regularly, so features can change. We try to keep SpeakUp available at all times, but it may sometimes be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of problems outside our control.

Ending your account

You can stop using SpeakUp at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why where we can.

Liability

We provide SpeakUp with care, but to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
